List of auctioneers:
In The Journal of Antiques and Collectibles, there appeared a Feature Article entitled "Women in Auctioneering" by Catherine Saunders-Watson. In her article Ms. Saunders-Watson related the success stories of 5 Women who've made indelible marks on the Antiques Auctioneering Industry in recent years. In her opening lines Ms. Sanders-Watson remarked that this story could not have been written 25 short years ago. Far from the entire history of the Auctioneering business, but certainly a meaningful slice of anyone's business and professional life, and more certainly, a period during which significant importance can be noted in the penetration of an old and revered profession by persistent and talented women. The article included the story and career path of Tonya A. Cameron, a native daughter of Washington, D.C., now residing and working in Eastern Massachusetts. Tonya's entry into the auctioneering profession followed 22 years of business experience and was based primarily upon an early family interest in Antiques and Collectibles and then in her words, an innate entrepreneurial spirit combined with an urgent need to engage herself in a business she had always loved and enjoyed. She became affiliated with the Antique Co-op in Malden, Massachusetts and has since that time obtained her prized Auctioneers License, and conducts numerous successful Auctions, including many Charity Auctions for organizations that she cares intensely about.

We invite Antiques Auction fans everywhere to visit the Auction Co-Op in Malden on these occasions, perhaps to simply sample Tonya's engaging and spirited style, but more importantly to be prepared to respond to the bidding for Catalog items you've long searched for and finally found. |
